Italian Craftsmanship Takes Center Stage as Ludovica Mascheroni Celebrates 20 Years at Fuorisalone

For Italian design, longevity is rarely an accident. It is the result of discipline, patience, and an unwavering belief in craft. For the luxury lifestyle house Ludovica Mascheroni, that philosophy has defined the past two decades.

This year, the brand marks its twentieth anniversary with a celebration that mirrors the very ethos it was built upon: craftsmanship, family legacy, and the quiet power of Made in Italy.

A 20-Year Milestone Rooted In Craft

Founded in 2006 in the heart of Italy’s famed Brianza furniture district, Fabio Mascheroni and Roberta Caglio built the company on the belief that luxury should be measured not by logos, but by the integrity of materials and the precision of workmanship.

Two decades later, that vision remains intact.

The anniversary will unfold during Fuorisalone in Milan—the citywide design celebration that transforms the Italian capital of style into a global stage for architecture, interiors, and creative experimentation. Within the brand’s flagship space in the city’s prestigious Quadrilatero district, Ludovica Mascheroni will present an immersive exhibition retracing the company’s defining moments.

Part retrospective, part statement of intent, the exhibition will highlight the artisanal techniques and design philosophies that have guided the brand from its earliest workshop days to its current position in the luxury lifestyle market.

Design As A Living Archive

Central to the celebration are two newly unveiled creations that embody the company’s design language.

The first is an artistic boiserie installation showcasing the materials that have become synonymous with the house—from richly treated leathers to rare woods shaped by master artisans. The second is a contemporary reinterpretation of a signature sofa from the brand’s archives, bridging past and present through updated proportions and refined craftsmanship.

Together, they function less as products and more as expressions of a design philosophy: that tradition can evolve without losing its soul.

Visitors to the Milan showroom will also encounter a celebratory display introducing the brand’s new sweets line—an unexpected but fitting extension of its lifestyle universe, reinforcing the idea that luxury is experienced through every sense.

A Family Legacy In The Making

For Mascheroni and Caglio, the anniversary is as much about continuity as it is about reflection.

“Twenty years is a significant milestone,” the founders say. “It invites us to proudly evaluate what we have built while looking to the future with curiosity and a desire for new challenges.”

That future increasingly involves the next generation. Their sons Riccardo and Lorenzo, alongside their daughter Ludovica—the namesake of the brand—are stepping further into the business, reinforcing the company’s identity as a multigenerational enterprise.

In an industry often driven by short creative cycles, the Mascheroni approach remains grounded in something slower and more deliberate: heritage.

From Workshop To Lifestyle Brand

The story began with Rimalcuoio, the upholstery and leatherworking company established by Mascheroni and Caglio in 2006. Specializing in leather and wood craftsmanship, the workshop collaborated with leading furniture manufacturers and international fashion houses.

By 2009, that expertise evolved into a standalone brand: Ludovica Mascheroni.

Named in honor of the founders’ daughter, the label signaled a broader ambition—to transform artisanal know-how into a comprehensive luxury lifestyle offering. The same year marked the opening of the brand’s first showroom in Meda, a symbolic step into the global luxury design arena.

Nearly a decade later, the company expanded beyond interiors with the launch of its couture line in 2018. The move introduced ready-to-wear collections for men and women built around the same principles as the furniture: impeccable materials, quiet elegance, and comfort elevated to an art form.

By 2021, the dual identity of the brand—home and wardrobe—found a physical expression in its Milan flagship apartment concept, a three-level showroom designed to feel less like a boutique and more like a private residence.

The Modern Face Of Italian Craft

Today, Ludovica Mascheroni employs 55 people across production, design, and administration, while collaborating with specialized artisan workshops throughout the Como and Brianza regions.

Its clientele is equally international, with projects often commissioned for private residences belonging to a global luxury clientele seeking something increasingly rare in contemporary design: authenticity.

In many ways, the brand’s twentieth anniversary underscores a broader shift in luxury culture. As consumers grow more discerning, the value of craftsmanship—once assumed—has become newly visible.

For Ludovica Mascheroni, that visibility is not a trend but a continuation of its founding ethos: elevating traditional know-how into a living form of art.

And in a city like Milan, where design heritage meets constant reinvention, the celebration during Fuorisalone feels particularly fitting.

Because for a house built on patience and precision, twenty years is less a finish line than the foundation for what comes next.
